This website serves as the Communication on Progress (COP) Report for the United Nations Global Compact.

The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. By doing so, business can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere. With over 10,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders from over 130 countries, it is the largest voluntary corporate responsibility initiative in the world.

MCI are amongst 620 companies of the 10,000 signatories to the UN Global Compact who are reporting at the GC Advanced Level. Through the GC Advanced level, the Global Compact Office recognizes companies that strive to be top reporters and declare that they have adopted and report on a broad range of best practices in sustainability governance and management.

MCI has been a signatory of the Global Compact since 2007. We are proud to have been the first agency from the meetings and associations industry to commit to the Global Compact and since then we have been working to integrate the ten guiding principles into our business. We challenge our partners and clients to also support the Compact. The Compact’s ten principles, issues areas and initiatives have been a fundamental influence and guide in the development of our sustainability strategy. We are also a participant in the UNGC Caring for the Climate initiative. Our Sustainability and Management teams have participated actively in the UNGC Leaders Summit and at various other events.

Since 2010 we have been an event partner to the UN Global Compact working for the secretariat in New York and various local networks. We are proud to have been able to help organise the 2010 and 2013 Leaders Summit and the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum.
